“This exhibition was inspired by my 2003, 2004 and 2005 trips to South Africa, Peru and Chile, as well as magical moments I had experienced closer to home: the whale stranded in front of the Houses of Parliament, the wild horses of Mendip Hills in Somerset, an encounter with a woodpecker in the woods, a young man in Paris sitting on a windowsill playing his guitar. Years later, I understood that this exhibition was my farewell to London and to a way of life that I Ioved profoundly.”
